Smallville: Instinct

The story arc between Lois and Clark's relationship, and what they will be in the future, takes a bounding leap forward in this episode. From what I can tell, next week's episode is going to do it again. The the writers are constantly hinting toward Lois and Clark's future relationship, but it's usually pretty cheesy. So finally, instead of just hinting about it, they actually start moving toward it.
I can't say that I am a big fan of guest star Charlotte Sullivan's performance as Maxima. It didn't seem like there was any depth to the character, but that might not be her fault. I mean, how much can you actually do with a character in only one episode. While the character herself was a little dull, she served her purpose. She acted as a catalyst to start bringing Lois feelings for Clark to the surface.
This season is certainly keeping the momentum it started with the premier. The episodes have been consistently above average. And is it just me, or was it pretty obvious that the email Tess got at the end was from Lex?
What did you think of the episode?
