Smallville: Odyssey

While I was watching this episode there were a lot of things that bugged me, but by the end of the episode I realized that the things that bugged me are present in every episode of Smallville.
So lets talk about the rest of the episode. Can I just say: FINALLY! I hope now we can completely move past all the "teen love drama" and "Lex isn't who he says he is" story lines. I know there has been plenty of story lines that don't have to do with what I just said, but it was always there in the background, ready to pop up again in a second. Clark finally decides he hasn't been living up to his potential and is ready to drop his baggage and become a hero. He has a nice mini-monologue at the end, as well as a great scene with Lois, that sets the stage for the rest of the series. However long that may be. I love the show, don't get me wrong, but please let this be the last season. How much longer can they drag this out. Pretty long, I guess.
But it looks like the show is moving on from the farm. For the last two seasons Clark, as a character, was going no where. It was just the same thing over and over. Pine over Lana, complain about Jor-el; lather, rinse, repeat.
As usual we get the resolution to every cliffhanger, that the finale presented, resolved in the season premier. Clark is found, he gets his powers back, and Chloe is busted out of custody, yada, yada, yada. I guess we don't get Lex's resolution in this episode, but all real fans of the show knew he wouldn't be back. So we get introduced to the new CEO of Luthorcorp, Tess Mercer(Cassidy Freeman), and I really don't like the character. Poor casting in my opinion. She was more like a power hungry Samantha Drake from episode 5.10 Fanatic. But a better actress could have pulled it off way better.
So, anyway, I am excited for this season and I feel like we are in for a lot of action and good characters.
