Terminator: TSCC: My Thoughts On the Second Season
April 11th 2009 22:20
Let me just start off by saying this is a show that more people should be watching. It is consistent and has an interesting way of telling a story that could potentially be very boring. The show explores many themes mostly about human nature, I think.
I think some people just don't get the show. I think they expect it to be more action packed, but that's not the point. The title says it all. It's a chronicling of Sarah Conner's life, following the events of the second Terminator movie. Yes she is constantly on the run and looking over her shoulder, but it's not always going to be machine fights, car chases, and shoot 'em up action. That's what I love about this show. It's emotional and makes you think.
There are a few negative things though. In my opinion Lena Headly is miscast as Sarah Conner and I think the producers realized this and started giving a lot of screen time to the supporting cast. All of whom are wonderful actors, so much so that they out shine the lead in just about every scene. Headly is just not strong enough as an actress to carry this series. Again, just my opinion though.
I really hope this series gets picked up for another season, it's not looking good though. If you're a fan of the movies at all do yourself a favor and check out this series!
MY FAVORITE EPISODE OF THE SEASON
Born to Run: A wonderful season finale. The best episode of the season and series so far. And that is saying something. So many great episodes like, "Mr. Ferguson is Ill Today", "Last Voyage of the Jimmy Carter" and "Adam Raised a Cain"
