Supernatural: Heaven and Hell

November 21st 2008 04:37

As I watched this episode I kept thinking that it wasn't living up to what the previous episode set up for it, but man I was so wrong. The climax was just amazing and holy crap what a performance by Jensen Ackles there at the end with his monologue about being in hell.

One thing that just blows me away by the show in general is how detail oriented everything it. That's not easy to do consistantly because each week you have a different writer and director and I'm sure the crews get mixed around a fair amount. Yet Supernatural does it every week.

There were a couple great twists. I seriously didn't see the reveal that Anna was once an Angel. Wow, so Sam has slept with a demon and Dean, an Angel. I wonder if they are trying to be symbolic with that, they could be, but then it could be that that is just the way it worked out with the direction the story went.

Smallville: Bride

Just make sure this thing is sticking up and it slides right in

Wow two episodes in a row that will go down as personal favorites. Not only is this one going down as a personal favorite, it's my all time favorite episode right now. Seriously, this was one amazing episode.

I gotta hand it to director Jeannot Szwarc for making the episode have a somewhat artsy feel to it. Jeannot Szwarc really knows his way around a tv show, he's also directed several episodes of, Bones, Heroes, The Practice and many other popular shows. I love this guy.

The opening teaser was awesome, very Cloverfield-esque. Pretty much any scene between Lois and Clark was just amazing. I didn't think that Erica Durance could pull off, convincingly, falling in love with Clark. She so proved me wrong in the best way. She was phenomenal in this episode, easily her best performance on the show. She was able to do so much with her facial expressions. I could just see the inner conflict. What is even more amazing is that everything she tells to Oliver on the porch you could already discern through her facial expressions and body language.

What a why to send the show off to winter hiatus. What with all the crazy inexplicable scenes right before the credits. Why is Chloe smiling, why are they at the Fortress, was that Lex and what in the world was going on there? Arg... so many questions.

Bones: The Passenger in the Oven

November 21st 2008 00:17

I can't say that I enjoyed this episode as much as some people seem to. Don't get me wrong, I liked the episode, but it reminded me too much of the episode of House: Airborne. I think they tried to be creative and fresh, but it fell short a little bit, I think. However they put the focus on the mystery of the murder, which I am grateful for.

The writing was a great as ever. I find myself laughing more and more with each new episode of the season. The sexy librarian scene was hilarious. And I always love when Patricia Belcher(Caroline Julian) is around, she always manages to steal the scene.

Like I said, I like this episode, but not as much as some people do. I think it was on par with some of the better episodes of the series, but it didn't really stand out to me. Maybe I need to rewatch it, I may have missed something.

Pushing Daisies: Oh Oh Oh...It's Magic

November 20th 2008 03:30

The writing for this show is top notch, especially the humorous parts. While this show has many, many funny moments, I don't often find myself actually laughing out loud, maybe once an episode, I don't really find most of it the laugh out loud kind of humor. That being said, I found myself LOLing several times during this episode. I don't know if it was my mood or what, I'd like to think it was because it was extra funny

Fringe: The Equation

November 19th 2008 04:37

Well, Walter continues to get the absolute best lines of the whole cast. While that is very true, this episode John Noble shows a much wider acting range than just being humorous. It was written that way and he did not disappoint

House: Emancipation

November 19th 2008 04:15

I think I speak for most House fans, correct me if I'm wrong, when I say we love a compelling medical mystery to be the focus of an episode of House. And that is just what we got in this episode

Something that I love about it this show is its capacity to make you think. Human nature, psychology, or life in general. This was one of those episodes. Its main objective was to be thought provoking

Chuck: Chuck Versus the Fat Lady

November 18th 2008 04:20

Well, I can honestly say I didn't see the twist coming at the end. I saw it coming about a minute before the reveal when they were scanning through all the Fulcrum agents. I knew that they had be bringing Chuck's ex-girlfriend back for something big, and big, it certainly is. While this was a superb episode, with several great sequences, I do have some issues with it

Bones meets Seeley's little brother

Yes! Awesome episode. Hands down the best episode so far this season, and could possibly go down as one of the series best. It's definitely going down as a personal favorite of mine. It pretty much had everything that a fan wants in an episode of Bones

Fringe: In Which We Meet Mr. Jones

November 12th 2008 04:45

Well this episode is going down as the best one so far, in the series, in my opinion. So far, in the show, there hasn't been as much of an intensity or excitement that should be there. This episode changes that. There was a genuine intensity that really had me on the edge of my seat. The direction of this episode was just superb. It had great timing on everything, with perfect placement of the humor. The great editing also played a big part in making this episode much more thrilling than the others

House: The Itch

November 12th 2008 04:28

This episode picks up right where the last one left off and deals with the after math of House's kiss with Cuddy. I thought they handled it perfectly with how House chooses to deal with the situation. There was a great subtly with Hugh Laurie's performance in this episode. He really knows what to do with his character

Prison Break: The Legend

November 11th 2008 04:57

Well, I was very wrong about the my prediction that Riley, on Terminator:TSCC, would be a crucial part of the story. I also made the same prediction about Shannon Lucio character, Trishanne, in this show. I was, however, not wrong with that prediction. I need to be a little bit more careful with spoilers in my TV blogs, so I'll just say that there is a big reveal in this episode that shows that she is a much bigger part of the story than she appeared. I kinda wish they would have teased us a little bit with her role. maybe dropped some clues. I mean they did drop a clue in this episode, but then the big reveal was only a little bit after that

Chuck: Chuck Versus the Ex

This episode is easily one of the best of the series so far. It was fun and elaborate and the best disguises, so far, ensue. I absolutely loved the restaurant scene, I thought it was one of the best directed scenes so far in the show

Supernatural: Wishful Thinking

November 7th 2008 05:01
When I saw the teaser for this episode, after last week's episode, I actually thought it was a little silly and wasn't really looking forward to this episode... I should have known better than to think that. With how awesome this season has been, how could I have thought that?

Even though they have never done an episode like this at all, it still had everything we have have come to love in an episode. Especially the humor. Seriously, Teddy Bear Doctors? Who thinks up this stuff. Ben Edlund that's who. He has already written several great episodes of Supernatural as well as been a writer on Firefly and Angel. He wrote what is widely regarded, and in my opinion, the best episode of Angel: Smile Time. I am a huge fan of this guy

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is what Smallville should have been doing several seasons ago, delving deeper, with each episode, into the superman mythology
