Every episode this season, it seems, leaves me saying: How can they top this? But then they do another amazing episode the next week.

This episode was an excellent blend of a self contained, hunt the demon: the end and progressing the story arc of the season. We get introduced to another Angel named Uriel, played by Robert Wisdom(Prison Break). Big difference between him playing a drug lord in "Prison Break" and an Angel. I thought he did alright. I like his scene between him and Sam at the end. He probably did a lot better than it seems, but he was too over shadowed by Misha Collins who is absolutely perfect in his role as Castiel.

This episode was especially clever, I thought, in it's dialogue. I thought it was a better mix of humor and serious with better timing on the humor part. Dean gets funnier with each episode, this season.

I've been reading a head and finding out basic plots of future episodes and it looks like some even crazier stuff is going to go down. it's actually got me worried because: If this season keeps delivering the goods, like it has been, how do you top it.

Smallville: Identity

October 31st 2008 03:17

This is what Smallville should have been doing seasons ago. This is the kind of stuff that fans of the show and of Superman want to see. Clark embracing his role as a hero.

Just as other episodes this season have been showing Clark becoming the kind of person he is as Superman, this episode does it too. I LOVED the scene after Oliver, pretending to be the mysterious hero, saved Jimmy and Clark turned around and saw all the people admiring the hero above them. It was a major turning point for Clark, as a character, because he now sees that he can give people hope by being a hero. And that's what Superman is all about.

It was good to have Lois back, after being absent from last week's episode. They were even able to throw in some great banter between her and Clark. Plus some more inklings of Lois's real feelings toward Clark were alluded to when Lois's reaction to Clark zipping up her dress was shown.

Anyway, great episode. Keep it up Smallville. Oh, side note: what the heck is with Chloe? She went all hardcore at the end. I wonder where that is leading.

Pushing Daisies: Dim Sum Lose Some

October 30th 2008 02:25

This show does such a good job, each episode, of presenting us with both a compelling mystery while at the same time providing appropriate character development and progressing particular story lines.

This episode is a great example of that. I won't spoil anything in case anyone reading this hasn't seen the episode yet, but is planning on it. But we get a big revel about Ned and his family and it creates a wonderfully touching scene at the end, but at the same time adding a bit of mystery to a certain new, recurring character.

That character would be Dwight Dixon played by Stephen Root(Office Space, King of the Hill). He is one of my favorite actors and although we only get a small bit of him in this episode he has great screen presence and I really enjoyed his character.

This episode was another good example of how well this show uses colors in their costumes and set design. There was a lot of red in this episode just like how there was a lot of yellow in the season opener. i love it when they do that.

Too bad we have to wait a few weeks for the next episode.

Well this episode was a big step up from the last one, but still this episode wasn't as powerful as it could have been. On paper this episode looks really interesting and dramatic

Chuck: Chuck Versus Tom Sawyer

October 28th 2008 03:38

Well this is the first episode of the season that has been a little bit of a let down. It got too far fetched and wasn't as charming and witty as it usually is. Playing a video game to get some codes to a satellite? Come on, who puts a code to a satellite in a video game? Who does that? It just got a too silly there toward the end

Supernatural: Yellow Fever

I think this episode could be the funniest episode they've ever done. By funniest I mean: It had more funny moments than any other episode. The cat in the locker scene had me rolling, and the outtake after the episode was just spectacular. This could probably be Jensen Ackles best performance on the show to date. I mean seriously it take some major acting chops to do what he did in this episode.

I better move on because I could keep going like that for a while

Smallville: Prey

October 24th 2008 03:30

This season just keeps it coming with sub plots. So far the show is handling all of them very well. This episode adds another one when Clark promises John they'll find a way to restore his powers. I'm confident that the show won't leave one of the plots behind or let them spiral out of control. Unlike some other shows *glares*... I'm talking to you, Heroes

Pushing Daisies: Frescorts

What can I say other that this was another superb episode. Everything just worked so well together. The subplots supported the main plot perfectly. We had great guest stars and the episode built on everything that happened in the last episode

This show has a lot going for it. It has a compelling premise, strong, likable characters and great writing. Even though it has all of those elements it seem like, each episode falls just short of exiting enough

House: Lucky Thirteen

Well despite being mostly boring, this episode was kinda revealing. We do get a little incite to how Thirteen is dealing with her Huntingtons. Dr. Foreman also gets to step into the spot light a little bit, which I really enjoyed

Prison Break: The Price

October 21st 2008 23:48

After being absent for a week Prison Break returns with one of the best episodes of the series. I can't believe how many twist and turns they managed to put into this episode. Sucre gets shot, Wyatt is captured by the team, Roland betrays the team and is killed by Wyatt. If you had told me before hand, that all of these things will happen in this episode, I wouldn't have believed you

Chuck: Chuck Versus the Cougars

I have been dying to get some back story on Sarah. For a while there I actually though they had revealed her real name, but no. I thought the flashbacks scenes were great, especially the very end one. The costume and make-up dept. did a great job making Sarah look 10 years younger and completely opposite of how she looks now. Even though I've been wanting some Sarah back story, it leaves me only wanting more

Supernatural: Monster Movie

October 17th 2008 03:53

I don't have words, right now, to describe how much I enjoyed this episode. Sure there have been better episodes, but this one was just fun and then some. It was like what Joss Whedon did with Once More With Feeling. He channeled his love of older musicals and made a musical episode out of it. It very similar to what the creative teams did with this episode, they channeled older monster movies and made an episode with tons of homage moments in it. Robert Singer and whomever the director of photography is, did a spectacular job with using the camera in the same fashion as those older movies

Smallville: Committed

October 17th 2008 03:28

When they said this season would be all about Lois and Clark and their relationship, they meant it. This episode takes another giant leap forward, moving toward the future relationship of Lois and Clark. I have to say that I hope people realize just how awesome that scene was, when Lois, strapped to a lie detector, was asked if she loves Clark. That whole scene was superb. Especially at the end after Clark escapes and steps through the steam and says: "Lois, are you alright?" Huge Superman moment right there

Pushing Daisies: Bad Habits

October 16th 2008 23:07

I've always thought Lee Pace's acting was subtly brilliant. He was nominated for an Emmy for it. Even though he does a great job portraying Ned, I've always felt that Ned was a static character. But after this episode I suppose he was supposed to be that way. There is a great moment in the confessional where Ned and the Priest work out some of Ned's issues. That scene alone brings to light a whole new layer of Ned that we all knew was there but was suppressed by him. I'm certain that Ned's father will soon be part of the show

Fringe: Power Hungry

October 15th 2008 03:55

Well this episode get a big fat MEH, from me. I still like this show a lot over all, but this episode was pretty lackluster. The premise for the episode was promising enough, but I thought it got a little silly when they brought the pigeons on. The end was very good though, after the case had been resolved. I think that redeemed the episode from going from lackluster to dull. The over arcing character story lines need to get more in depth, in my opinion, if they want solidify their fan base

This episode has a lot going for it. I mean talk about reveal after reveal. We find out(FINALLY) how House and Wilson met and became friends. House's dad wasn't his real dad. House ringtone for his team is Mmbop by Hanson, which is awesome

Chuck: Chuck Versus the Break-Up

October 14th 2008 03:27

Every show, worth watching(which I know is a matter of opinion) has moments that fans of the particular show will talk about a lot, even after the show has gone off the air. This episode of Chuck has one of those moments. The scene at the end with Sarah and Chuck talking outside of his place is the most honest and emotional scene so far in the series

Smallville: Instinct

Maxima from Superman: The Animated Series

The story arc between Lois and Clark's relationship, and what they will be in the future, takes a bounding leap forward in this episode. From what I can tell, next week's episode is going to do it again. The the writers are constantly hinting toward Lois and Clark's future relationship, but it's usually pretty cheesy. So finally, instead of just hinting about it, they actually start moving toward it

Supernatural: Metamorphosis

October 10th 2008 18:02

This was a well crafted, thought out episode. I say that because of the way the case paralleled Sam's internal conflict. A lot of the things that Sam tried to talk to Jack about was like he was saying it to himself. It's can be dangerous to do an episode like this because it can easily become very contrived, but not so with this episode
